Deng Presidential Chair Professor; Dean, School of Public Policy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen; President, The Institute for International Affairs, Qianhai.Professor Zheng is Editor of The Asian Review of Political Economy (Springer-Nature) and Editor of China Policy Series (Routledge).Professor Zheng graduated from Peking University (BA in International Relations, 1985; MA in Political Theory, 1988) and Princeton University (MA in Political Science, 1992; PhD, 1995). He was a Lecturer in the Department of Politics and Public Administration of Peking University (1988-1990); Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow of the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore (1997-2005); Professor and Research Director of the China Policy Institute, University of Nottingham (2005-2008); Professor and Director of the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore (2008-2020). He was a Fellow of the US Social Science Research Council-MacArthur Foundation (1995-1997) and a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Fellow (1998-2000).Professor Zheng’s main research interests are international relations, China’s foreign policy, China’s domestic transformation and its external impact. He has authored and edited some one hundred books, including more than a dozen monographs in English. He has published numerous research papers in academic journals.Professor Zheng has been selected as the Top 2% Scientists ranked by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2024. Geng XIAO is Professor of Practice in Economics and Associate Dean (International Cooperation) of the School of Public Policy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He is also a member of the Expert Group of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, a member of Exert Group of the Shenzhen Government, a member of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Council on Financial Sector Cooperation, Director and Vice-President of the Shenzhen Academy for Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau Cooperation and Innovation, Chairman of the Hong Kong Institution for International Finance, Editor-in-Chief of the Hong Kong International Finance Review. Xiao received a B.S. in System Sciences and Management Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China and MA and PhD in Economics from University of California at Los Angeles. Professor Xiao’s research and practice have focused on China’s economic reform and opening, covering macroeconomics, international finance, capital market, enterprise reform and productivity, urban development, and U.S.-China relations. Over last few decades Professor Xiao has held positions in key academic, policy, regulatory, and business institutions, including Professor of Practice and Director of the Institute of Policy and Practice at the Shenzhen Finance Institute of CUHK-Shenzhen, Professor of Practice in Finance at Peking University HSBC Business School, Professor of Practice in Finance and Public Policy at the University of Hong Kong, Vice President of Fung Global Institute, Director of the Columbia University Global Center Beijing, founding Director of Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy, Senior Fellow of Brookings Institution, Head of Research and Advisor to the Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, Vice President of Chinese Economists Society (USA), Visiting Scholar and Faculty Associate at Harvard Institute for International Development, Consultant of the World Bank and UNDP. Professor Xiao has also been independent director or supervisor for Midea Group, Qingdao Beer, Biokin Pharma, HSBC China, UBS China, Genesis Emerging Market Fund, Shenzhen Development Bank (now Pingan Bank), and Bank of Jinzhou.

Serves currently as Visiting Professor at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Mentor at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, BiMBA Mentor Business School, Peking University. Honored with the "Outstanding Manager of the Year" by Harvard Business Review, the "Commercial World Woodland Award" by China Entrepreneurs, the "Outstanding Female Leader Award" from the World Chinese Association, and the Athena Award for Global Women's Leadership.
